Having any disease or sickness that results in vomiting or diarrhea brings on another battle, dehydration. Yes, going to the hospital for IV fluids is always a solution, but it doesn’t have to be the only option. If you simply need hydration and you’re not in need of immediate medical attention, the best thing to do is make a quick trip to any grocery or drug store for a bottle of Pedialyte.

You’ve probably been told before to drink Pedialyte if you’re sick or have a hangover. But do you know why? Well, it’s pretty cool actually. During one of my many trips to the hospital to receive a vitamin and mineral infusion, my doctor and I were discussing hydration. He explained that Pedialyte is the only oral hydration that you can purchase that doesn’t need to be digested to work!

WHAT?!

This is amazing news for us with gastroparesis! Our whole issue is that our stomach doesn’t want to work properly and refuses to absorb anything we put into it.

So, don’t want until you’re so dehydrated you have charlie horses or to fatigue to move. Add an 8oz glass of Pedialyte to your daily routine.
